A monthly feature on the website of the Centre for Gender Studies (ZfG) presenting international female artists selected by the team at the Centre; the choice of artists often reflects particular occasions (birthdays, awards, concerts, other events, etc.) or suggestions by students/teaching staff. Presentations are medially prepared and published by the Centre for Gender Studies’ website staff.
The aim of this monthly feature (reproduction, biography, links, etc.) presenting international female artists from the fields of music, theater, and performance is to introduce outstanding personalities to internal and external audiences; leading to increased awareness of significant women in various artistic fields and highlighting role models.
This monthly feature on international female artists on the website of the Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz corresponds to the objectives of the advancement of women, and of enhancing gender knowledge and competence in research and education in art and science. Fulfillment of these objectives is mandated by the university’s statutes (see Sections 94-96). A detailed definition of the objectives is also included in the Development Plan for 2016-2021 (Chapter 5: Gender and diversity), and in the new Plan for Gender Equality and the Advancement of Women.
