Relation to gender equality targets

Pursuant to Section 42 (1) of the University Act (UG) 2002, the Working Group for Equal Opportunities (Arbeitskreis für Gleichbehandlungsfragen, AKGL) is responsible for the prevention of discrimination by university bodies on the grounds of gender, ethnicity, religion or ideological conviction, age or sexual orientation. The Working Group’s further goal is to advise and support members of universities and university bodies in matters related to discrimination and in cases of sexual violence.

The leaflet is published by the Coordination Centre for Gender Studies and Equal Opportunities.

The objective(s) of the tool

Prevention, awareness, information;
Support for victims;
Information concerning the  advisory service of the Working Group for Equal Opportunities

Description of the tool

Illustrated leaflet in small format, 12 pages.

How the tool works, practical experience

The leaflet represents a vital information tool for the Working Group for Equal Opportunities. It is used preemptively, to counteract sexualized harassment by heightening the sensitivity for this subject matter among university members, and to create awareness of possible courses of action when witnessing any such occurrence. Providing affected individuals with information is another important function: the aim is to empower those affected by expanding their range of possible responses.
